Add someone
Add family, pets, or plants from My Home and start with suggested care templates.
Quick record
Tap +, choose who and what to record, then use recent values to finish faster.
Reminders
Add a reminder from a profile. If it does not appear, check iOS permissions, Focus, and quiet hours.
iCloud backup
Back up now or enable Automatic iCloud Backup under Settings → Data. Nown asks before restoring.
Add widgets
Add Nown from the Home or Lock Screen widget gallery for Today, records, memories, and family dates.
Use iPad
Nown adapts to portrait, landscape, and common window widths while keeping navigation familiar.
First launch
Browse the introduction or enter the separate demo space. Demo content never enters your real records and is removed when you leave. When ready, add the first person, pet, or plant from My Home.
If a reminder does not appear
- Open iPhone Settings → Notifications → Nown and confirm Allow Notifications is enabled.
- Check whether Focus or Scheduled Summary is delaying the notification.
- Review quiet hours under Nown Settings → Reminders.
- Confirm the reminder is enabled and its date, time, and recurrence are correct.
Photos and storage
Each record supports up to 9 photos. Images are managed with their record and included in complete backups. Larger photo libraries create larger backup files. Deleting a record also removes its linked images.
Use iCloud backup and restore
- Confirm the device is signed in to an Apple Account and iCloud Drive is enabled.
- Open Nown → Settings → Data and tap Back Up to iCloud Now.
- Enable Automatic iCloud Backup if you want Nown to refresh the backup when the app enters the background.
- On a new device signed in to the same Apple Account, open the same screen and choose Restore from iCloud.
- Check the backup date before confirming. Restore replaces current Nown data on that device and cannot be undone.
iCloud backup is a complete backup file, not live record-by-record merge sync between devices. If iCloud is unavailable, check sign-in status, iCloud Drive, available storage, and the network connection.
Add and use widgets
- Home Screen: touch and hold an empty area, choose Add Widget, then search for Nown.
- Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, choose Customize, then select Nown in the widget area.
- Choose Today, Quick Record, Time Rewind, or Family Dates. Some widgets can be edited to select a profile or record action.
- If content is not ready after adding a widget, open Nown once so the app can create its latest summary.
- Names, reminders, and memories can be sensitive. Lock Screen visibility follows system privacy settings.
Use Nown on iPad
Nown supports iPad portrait, landscape, and common window sizes, adapting navigation and content to the available width. Features stay familiar across iPhone and iPad. Use iCloud backup and restore to move data; do not assume two devices merge records live.
Backup security notes
- A backup may contain names, photos, health details, and life records. Store it somewhere you trust.
- Nown validates versions, references, and images before replacing current data.
- A successful import replaces current content and cannot be undone.
- Before clearing data, consider exporting a backup you have verified.
Appearance and language
Nown supports light, dark, and system appearance, multiple text sizes, Chinese, and English. Change these options anytime under Settings → Display.
Version and compatibility
Nown is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Download Nown on the App Store.
